Playing with socks

My daughter Aleysha asked me to make a Sock Monkey for her baby, I had never seen any so she told me to Google them.
She then bought a load of socks and toy stuffing, so not much of a chance to say NO
So I did and they are so cute, I looked at a few tutorials and just had to have ago I made these today
This one is made out of a pair of ladies ankle socks, So easy to do, made a few mistakes that I am not happy with, but it was a learning one, the next ones that I will be making for my grandsons will be a lot easier, now I know what I am doing
Here is a close up of her face, I used felt for the eyes instead of buttons, because my granddaughter is only 9 months old
This one is a cat made out of fluffy bed socks, My daughter thought it was a cow, I told her its a tabby cat ROFL
Again I stitched the eyes , as this will be for the baby to play with.
these are such fun to do and very easy to make, I used a machine but they can be hand sew easily

rag quilt number 2

Here is another rag quilt that I have made,
This one is larger than the baby one I did, you can see the post with photos underneath this one.
This one is just the right size for popping over your lap to snuggle into while watching tv.
I love the combination of blues and browns

here i have a close up of the rag edges, and below you can see that I have used the same patch for the underneath.
Enjoyed making these quilts so much, I am thinking of making another baby one in pink for my nephews baby due in April

I have more photos in the post below, I managed to blog the quilt before I lost the internet 3 days without it I was getting withdraw symptoms.

Baby s Rag Quilt

I have been looking at some of the cute Rag quilts that are on the Web, lots have instructions on how to make them and they seem very easy to do.
Well I got a bit obsessive about making one (go on admit it we crafter`s are all the same see something and want to have ago)
Well here is the one that I finished this week.
Yes it was as easy as it looks and I am planning on do another for me in the near future.
This is the little pile of material that I gathered together , I still have some left over to make a matching cushion
Here it is all put together this one is for granddaughter Perrie, so wanted it all pink and girly so that it will grow with her and not look babyish in a few years time .
This has cotton fabric for the top layers then two layers of flannelette ,  its so soft and cuddly on the bottom.
Instructions can be found
I found it quite hard to get pretty flannel here in the UK, so I used pretty cottons for the front and plain pink flannel for the underneath and white for the centre layer to give it a bit of warmth, you could also add soft baby fleece for the centre if you like

The next one I am hoping to do will be in Creams and Browns

Digital Project Life

Here is this weeks pages, did two for this week, because I wanted to showcase the fun the grandchildren had in the snow.
Used some digital page protectors to give the look of traditional Project Life pages, they were easy to use and fill, I will be mixing and matching my pages using both styles
