Fun with fabric yoyo, s

Sitting  watching tv hand sewing these little darlings ready for the frame was such fun.
To make just cut a circle twice the size of your finished yoyo,  sew large gathering stitches around the edge,  draw tight pulling the fabric into the centre before fastening off.
You can add buttons or flowers into the centre to pretty them up even more

Then I used a hot glue gun to stick to a plain wooden frame, simple but b
Very effective

Two More Altered Frames

This is the first of two frames I have altered for my Daughter and Niece .
This picture was taken at my sons 21st Birthday party.
Its of my Mother-in-law with my Daughter Aleysha (dark hair) and my niece Emily( longer hair)
The layout was done in Craft Artist from a selection of kits that I am addicted to buying.
I love how the vines look as if they are wrapped around the picture frame.

A closer look at the flowers in these photos.
These are all blues and pinks.
They were made from an  SVG cut file from Penny Duncan (See links in my side bar for Penny`s blog)
The leaves are all punched,.
flowers have been glimmer misted and glittered

This is the second frame.
Both frames were 10x8 inches in size.
Didn't make one for Mother- in- law as she does not like things on display, and this would be way to fussy for her.
I did print a small 6x4 and popped it into a small silver frame for her.
to nice a photo of her with her granddaughters not to have on display

Just changed the colours of the ribbon and flowers.
These are all purple and cream tones

Some more close ups of flowers.
again made using one of Penny`s cut files

Here is a closer view the layout that I framed.
All done with Serif Craft Artist.
I just love this software and use it daily

Altered Frame

I was looking after my Daughters two cats last week and took these photos of them, that I used to make this digital scrapbook layout.
The ginger cat  is Andrew and the grey is William
I then got a plain wood A4 frame that cost 90p, added some scrap book papers, sticking them down with Mod Podge.
I then lightly brushed some more over the top and sprinkled lightly with glamour dust.
The hearts were cut using a Martha Stewart punch, Some of the flowers were cut on my Cricuit the others are Prima and from wild orchid

Another Frame

I took a cheap frame from from a bargain shop cost £2

Then I added some SU scrapbook paper using Mod podge to stick it onto the frame and I also added a coat over the top.
Then for the large flowers I used an SU scallop punch, I punched out 6 shapes popped a brad in the centre, spray misted each layer until damp and squeezed up tightly into the centre, gave it all a tight squeeze then opened each layers gently to get my flower shapes.
The small roses were cut on a cricut shaped and glued together

Another frame #3

Ok getting addicted to making these frames now, this one is just for me.
This was an old glass clip frame that I have had laying around, so I thought I would have a go at altering it.
I placed some Crafters Companion Peter Rabbit backing Papers into the centre and added a photo of our grandson Keaton on his little train.
Then I hot glued some lace with a Peter Rabbit boarder onto the top, onto this I placed a topper, that is raised out from the frame.
I added another white feather, do love these I must get them in some more colours, the two large flowers are from my flower stash, I think I got them from wild orchid , but the blue roses are more made using Penny's cutting files, just hot glued a bow with a rose in the centre.
I am also entering this for crafter companion challenge

Altered Frame #2

Here is the second frame, Steph wanted blues, but I also added some chocolate brown tones, again I have made all the flowers, the roses are cut on the cricuit using sure cuts a lot and are one of  Penny Duncan SVG files, she gives these free on her blog along with all her cutting files, she also does files for other machines.
Please take a look at her blog she does stunning Art, link in my side bar and in my first frame posting

Altered Frame

I have been busy yesterday altering a frame for my sons girlfriend Emma, She still hasn't seen it yet, hope she likes it, she loves pink.
Well it started out like this, plain and boring

Covered the frame with papermainia love hearts scrapbook paper, then mod podge over the top.
I added a few feathers and some of my hand made flowers that I did using some punched out scallop circles, I punch out 3 using an SU punch, Then put a brad in the centre to join them all together, then I spray each layer with water, get it really wet and scrunch into the middle ,spray the next two layers again scrunching into the middle , then do the same with the bottom layer, then i use a poky tool to gently open each layer, spay with glimmer mists and leave to dry, when dry they stay in the flower shape.
I have also made the roses using  Penny Duncan's flower SVG files, If you follow my blog you will know that I cant stop making these flowers, you can get Penny`s file from her blog, THANKS PENNY  you know I love them

Then I added some wide pink ribbon tied in a bow then made another bow out of seam binding that I coloured myself, using cosmic shimmer sprays, stuck to the first bow and wrappers it around the tails
Here is the finished frame
I added a photo of the two of them but she can swap it if she likes, just need to do another for other sons girlfriend, then i bet daughter will want one toooo, watch this space
