Easel card tutorial

on crafters companion forum every week we do a live crafting session, those taking part don't know what they are going to make and just get a list of supplies.
This week it has been my turn to do the lesson and I have chosen an Easel card, they are all over blog land at the moment and very easy to do, instructions are below.
ingredients
A4 and a5 card that are the same.
2 backing papers cut to 5 1/2inches or 14cm square9 these can be the same or coordinating papers)
image to fit 6inch or 15cm square
two brads
embellishments
step 1
take the A4 card and cut length ways at 6 inches
Step 2
score at half fold A4 then one edge at Gate fold A4
Fold like this see photos

step 3
Take your A5 and cut into 6inch or 15 cm square
step 4
Take your backing papers that are 5 1/2 inches or 14cm square and add to card, if you like you can add a Small boarder using mirri card this you would cut to the size above and then cut down your PP a few cm ,
then add them to your card , 1 on the square card and 1 on the base card see photos below

step 5
measure 2 1/2 inches from fold and 2 inches down from top edge, make a hole with a poky tool and add brad, do the same on other side and add the other brad, i have used large brads but use what you have, stuck on buttons work just as well
see photo

step 6
take the double sided tape and add to card like this , stick your PP to the bottom of the base card
Add your cut piece with the PP and stick to it like this, where you have added the double sided tape take a good look at the photos to see how it all fits
this is how it looks when standing up, and resting against the brads

then you just need to have fun decorating, as you can see below

Pillow box

This pillow box was made using a template from pink petticoats, I have printed some of pink petticoats Elegance white papers onto card, then cut the template out to make the box. The flower , I printed two sheets of paper one in the plain colour and the other using the matching pattern paper, before cutting them out on the cricut, using sure cuts a lot

For the band I took the two papers that i used to make the flower, cut into strips and went along all the edges with a Martha Stewart doily punch, I wrapped this around the box then added two ribbons, a blue Ric rak and the sparkly tinsel

check out pink petticoats blog for more pillow boxes, link to the shop are in my side bar.
