live crafting

We have had another evening of live crafting on the crafters companion forum, this is the card we have made
imgredents
Ruler
Pencil
Craft knife
12x12 card for base
Contrasting card if you are going to mat your pattern paper
2 A4 pattern papers
TopperEmbellishments

Step 1
Cut your mat or 1st pattern paper if not mating to 3 3/4 inches x 5 1/4 inches, make two, also cut a strip 1 ¾ x5 ¼ inches
Step 2
Cut second pattern paper to 3 ¾ x 2 ¼ inches.
Then cut 6 pieces measuring 1 ¾ x 1 ¼,
Then 1 more at 1 ¾ x 2 ¼
Card Base
Step 1
Take your 12x12 card and cut it so that it is 12 x 5 ½ wide.
Take your ruler and make small marks in pencil at both top and bottom of this strip at 4 inches 8 inches and 10 inches, score down these lines, so that it looks like this

Step 2
On the first score line (4 inch line) make a small mark at 1 ½ inches from the top, also at 1 ½ inches from the bottom, them go to the last score line (10 inch line) and do the same here.
Cut with a craft knife, join using these marks as guides on the long side from 4 inch score to 10 inch score, at the top and bottom
See photo

Step 3
So again take your ruler and make small marks at the top and bottom at 6 inches.
Now we are going to make more score marks but only on the top and bottom 1½-inch margins at 6 inches, so score from your small mark to the cut line on the top then again on the bottom

Step 4
Crease the folds so that the card look like this, it is a bit fiddly so look at photos

Step 5
Taking pattern paper 1 stick the one of the large pattern papers to the front, and the second large one to the inside
Take the last of paper 1 and stick on other end. As in photos

Step 6
Take all your pattern papers 2 and stick them to the centre panels of the card.
Like this
This is the base card finished, sorry for all the cutting out but worth it I think. Now go and play, add your topper and embellishments, and see you later when you post your finished card

my Sketch challenge

This weeks sketch challenge for the girls on crafters companion has a little twist NO SKETCH for this week.
Instead I have given them a link to Freds site where she has these lovely flowers as a free download.
I have asked the girls on the site to use as many of these flowers as they like on their card this week, Fred has also made a matching backing paper which can also be used. You can see what they come up with diring the week at crafters companion
You can find the download of these free papers HERE. while you are there take the time to look at Freds blog she has some lovely tips on how to colour flowers, also nip over to the shop she has some stunning flowers for download in her shop The papers for my sample card are from k & co, I coloured the image with Marvey le plume pens, of course the lovely flower are from Fred
as you can see in the close up of the flowers I have added a dot of glitter glue into each centre, for the inside of the card I have carried the papers through and added a punched scallop for writing on

Diamond top card

I had a go at trying something a bit different, this card is a lot easier to do than it looks, I am sure I will be making a few more of these card I put a piece of scrap pearlescent card through my cuttlebug, then went over the top of the embossed design with chalks, I then coloured my Bella Image with water pencils, cut her out and mounted her onto the embossed mat with 3D foam pads, I then added a flower from Fred she said, the final bit was a sentiment from Pink petticoats

Blue flowers

I am really pleased with this card, love the blue and white togeather, and the flowers are just stunning, I have also made a Pink set of flowers I hope to get them onto a card tomorrow still drying at the moment, they come in lots of different colours and are available from a download at Freds store I just love them.
I put some white card through my cuttlebug with the happy birthday embossing folder, I placed this over some blue and white background paper, I then stuck some ric rac on with double sided tape, cut out and layered the flowers ontop, I still need to add a greeting, I have both a birthday and a thank you card to send out, so I am still not sure what this one will be
